In this webinar, Professor Amy Cutter-Mackenzie-Knowles (Southern Cross University, Australia) will share findings from her research into teaching and learning science and STEM concepts through play-based pedagogies in early childhood education. Amy worked with early childhood settings in Australia to learn about how children explore and engage with a range of STEM concepts in nature play, and how teachers can intentionally support this emergent, child-led learning both by using their existing knowledge, and by becoming co-learners and co-scientists alongside children. Amy is a Professor of Sustainability, Environment and Education at Southern Cross University, the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Education, and the Research Leader of the Sustainability, Environment and the Arts in Education (SEAE) Research Cluster. She has led over 40 research projects in environmental education.
