Learn the skills of data collection and analysis! Ideal for leadership teams and teachers.
Part 1 is ideal for teachers and leaders who want to improve their knowledge of spreadsheets for their own inquiries or who may need to prepare data for others to analyse. Part 2 is ideal for teachers and leaders who already know how to prepare data in a spreadsheet and are looking for ways to maximise the information they have access to in order to become more data informed.
This online webinar over two nights will discuss ways to intentionally teach curriculum learning areas and competencies while honoring child-led play. The focus will be on the ‘Respond’ component of ‘Notice, Recognise, and Respond’ – the guiding pedagogical underpinning of teaching through play.
This workshop will unpack the concepts of student agency, self-directed learning, and inquiry learning and how these connect with learning through play. Key developmental stages for older kids and the impact of these on learning opportunities will be discussed, along with the link between play and other forms of learning such as STEM/STEAM, Genius Hour, Maker Space and Passion Projects. The role the teacher has in student-led learning, assessment and curriculum coverage will be outlined.
Learn how to enrich the learning and deepen your students' curriculum knowledge through play-based learning. Using the Notice, Recognise and Respond pedagogical approach to assessment, participants will learn how to 'respond' to learning, while honoring child-led learning.
This training series will support school leadership to critically evaluate teaching practices observed in their schools and determine both the strengths and needs of their teachers to ensure their play-based practices are reflective of what evidence suggests works best in the school environment.
This workshop examines the how to of aligning the NZ Curriculum with play-based learning classroom practice through the use of Notice, Recognise and Respond formative assessment approaches.
