The New Zealand Social Sciences Conference (SocCon) 2019 will be held at the stunning Waipuna Hotel, Auckland, 30 September–2 October.
The 2019 theme 'A Sense of Place' will allow for exploration of all areas within the social sciences, with the programme including inspiring keynote speakers and a wide range of workshops. After playing to over 600,000 people across Australasia, Auckland’s smash-hit sensation Pop-up Globe hits the road in New Zealand for the first time.
We are excited to announce that there will be school matinee performances of the most famous play in the canon, Hamlet.

The Ngā Karahipi Uru Rākau – Forestry Scholarships are open from June to the 15 August. We’re offering 6 scholarships for the 2020 academic year for qualifying Māori and/ or female students enrolling in the Bachelor of Forestry Science or Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Forest Engineering at the University of Canterbury.
Successful winners will get:
$8,000 a year for 4 years (the length of the degree) to help with tuition fees and living costs, and
A paid internship with Te Uru Rākau (Forestry New Zealand) or another forestry employer.
