Did you know that buildings built before 1 January 2000 are likely to contain asbestos?
If you are a new teacher with a provisional certificate and want to reach full certification, you could be eligible for financial support through the Education Council.
The Education Council’s Induction and Mentoring scheme now offers financial support to all eligible, provisionally certificated teachers who are nearing the end of a second three-year provisional certification period. You are eligible if you are a teacher who:
We are prioritising support for those provisionally certificated teachers who are working in locations where there is particular pressure on supply, but we are considering every case individually. We want to help as many teachers as possible to become fully certificated.
The Education Council has invested in programmes of research, evaluation and professional learning to strengthen induction and mentoring practices in New Zealand.
We want to raise the status of the profession and help the public to recognise the critical contribution that quality teaching and educational leadership makes to our society.
