Sports Coordinator and Physical Education (PE) Teacher

Auckland Normal Intermediate (ANI) is seeking a sports coordinator and PE teacher, permanent, full-time, term 1, 2027 start date.

Teachers at ANI are passionate, motivated leaders of learning who cater exceptionally well to the needs of the emerging adolescent (Years 7 and 8). We have physical education spaces with outdoor fields, a covered shade sail, ample court space and a state-of-the-art multi-purpose indoor space.

The sports coordinator role oversees all school sports operations, including managing team logistics, safety compliance, inventory, and major events like the AIMS Tournament.

The PE teacher role involves planning, delivering, and assessing physical education programs aligned with the New Zealand Curriculum and IB PYP while collaborating with teachers and unit holders on PE initiatives.

At ANI, the physical education teacher has 1 full day of release each week for team meetings, planning, observations and opportunities to coordinate school initiatives. Additional release is provided for the sports coordination role.

You will be entitled to a normal school allowance of $2,000. This is in recognition that you will have pre-service teachers in your class.
