Scale A Release Kaiako

Te Kura o Hinepōhatu (Maidstone Intermediate) is an intermediate kura located in Upper Hutt. We currently have 18 classes split into 5 rōpū across the kura. Guided by our core values of whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, and kaitiakitanga, we foster an inclusive environment where every tamaiti (child) feels a strong sense of belonging. We welcome a diverse range of ākonga who join us from a variety of contributing kura.

We are seeking a dedicated release kaiako to join our kura for 2027 (Year 7 or Year 8 to be decided). The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic kaiako who works collaboratively and maximises opportunities in our innovative learning environment. We seek a kaiako with strong relational skills who brings positive energy to the classroom and actively engages in all aspects of kura life. Our release kaiako will be taking a mixture of CRT release and unit release. At this stage we are looking to cover 1.2 of release throughout 2027. 

As an intermediate kura, we value our extracurricular opportunities alongside our academic programmes. Sports, performing arts, clubs, cultural rōpū, ākonga leadership, and many other opportunities abound for our eager learners. Kaiako are encouraged to bring their strengths and passions to support this holistic approach to ākonga development.

We are flexible for the right person and will look at 0.4, 0.6 or 0.8 release options if that appeals more. If you are looking to be a release kaiako for 2027, make contact now.
