Teacher

At Lumsden Kindergarten, we believe great teaching starts with great people — those who turn up, give their best, and see teaching as the privilege it truly is. We are seeking passionate teachers to join our team in January 2027 who value excellence and purposeful teaching.

Lumsden Kindergarten is a locally owned early learning centre in Hawke's Bay, recognised for delivering high-quality education from Nursery through to Big Lumsden. Led by an experienced owner, our centres are known for intentional teaching, strong team culture, and developing exceptional educators.

Mentoring is one of our greatest strengths. Through coaching, guidance, and professional growth opportunities, we invest in our teachers, supporting them to build confidence, elevate their practice, and become the very best educators they can be.

We particularly welcome teachers who LOVE working with infants and toddlers and understand the specialised, responsive teaching this age group deserves. At Lumsden, education and care go hand in hand. Every interaction, environment, and learning experience is an opportunity to nurture curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Alongside our little brother centre, Clive Kindergarten, we share a commitment to exceptional teaching and professional growth.

Excellence. Elevated. is our commitment.

This role is ideal for someone who:

• Is a qualified or nearly qualified ECE teacher
• Loves teaching across all age groups, particularly infants and toddlers
• Values intentional, responsive teaching
• Is reliable, professional, and committed to excellence
• Thrives in a collaborative team and welcomes mentoring

Applicants must be NZ residents already living in Hawke's Bay or with confirmed relocation arrangements. We are not an accredited employer.

Before applying, visit www.lumsdenkindergarten.co.nz and our social media to understand our vision and teaching philosophy.

If excellence matters to you, we'd love to hear from you.
