Building & technology teacher

We are seeking a suitably qualified person to teach our technology students and in our building academy in the area of construction and carpentry. 

Key responsibilities include facilitating teaching, learning and assessment for building students at introductory, pre-trade apprentice level, with courses including a strong hands-on practical learning component. 

Teaching qualifications and experience are not essential for this position however preference will be given to applicants with some ability in teaching, coaching or mentoring youth or young adults e.g. supervising apprentices or other workers on the job and Minimum of 3 years industry experience in residential and/or commercial construction. 

The successful applicant without teaching qualifications will be supported to achieve the Diploma in Tertiary Learning and Teaching or similar tertiary teaching qualification through on-job training and development. 

There is as an expectation of involvement in extracurricular activities on offer at the College.
