ECE kaiako - Montessori - team leader

At Fountain City Montessori, in Hamilton, we have a full-time permanent position available for an experienced teacher to fill in as our Casa dei Bambini team leader.  

You must be a people person who is keen to lead from within the team, not on top of it, and you have a strong drive to get the best out of other people. Team leadership experience is desirable, but not necessary, if you believe you have the skills and qualities to become a great team leader. Full training and support will be given.

You will need to be: 

• Knowledgeable about the Montessori philosophy (at least three years experience in a Montessori environment) and child development in the 3-6 year age group  
• Being a Registered ECE Teacher is a bonus
• Knowledgeable about classroom routines
• Enjoy the flexibility that is required to work in a busy centre with a team approach
• Comfortable in having difficult conversations with peers or parents
• Keen to mentor others through observations, goal setting and appraisals
• Lead collaboratively to ensure that everyone in the team plays a part in the running of the classroom
• A team player who is passionate about nurturing independence, and respecting everyone and everything.
