Ellesmere College -Te Kāreti o Waihora is a co-educational school, grounded in family values and a community focus, offering students from Year 7 to Year 13 an exceptional education.

We are seeking an energetic and innovative teacher of social sciences who is passionate about working with young people and can develop strong, mana-enhancing relationships with ākonga, whānau and kaiako.

We are looking for a team player who is unafraid of taking risks. You will need to be flexible, have a growth mindset and be committed to providing rich authentic learning contexts in an integrated way across curriculum areas.

Role requirements

• Trained and qualified teacher, with current NZ Teacher Registration.
• Able to work as part of an effective team.
• Knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum.
• Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to motivate and enthuse young people to learn.
• Able and willing to contribute to the wider life of the school outside the classroom.
• Able and willing to teach across all year levels.
