St Peter's College (Gore) Southland
Agricultural/Horticultural Teacher
- Full-time
- Permanent
- Suitable for beginning teachers
About the role
We are looking for an agricultural/horticultural teacher for the start of 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to make their mark in a provincial school with students who have a strong connection to this learning area. You will have access to a large tunnel house, raised garden area, small orchard and small onsite sheep area. There is the ability to expand this to include chickens and bees on site. Relationships with nearby farms will be a key part of this learning area, which will be supported/facilitated with existing school families. An ability to teach up to and including NCEA Level 3 is essential for this position. Please state any other supporting subjects that you have.
St Peter's College is a Catholic school in the Rosminian and Mercy traditions. We have a long and proud history of strong academic success. Our school is Year 7 to 13 and we have extensive grounds and facilities. Gore is close to a lot of scenic attractions such as Queenstown, Te Anau, Milford Sound and Central Otago.
We will consider applications from teachers who currently have the right to work in New Zealand and a New Zealand Teaching Council registration.
This position is open to beginning teachers. Additional responsibilities and allowances are negotiable for the right candidate.
