About the role
Are you a resourceful, passionate ECE teacher leader (or emergent leader) looking to make a meaningful impact? Do you want to work as part of an experienced, motivated and diverse teaching team?
We are seeking a head teacher to lead Te Puna, one of five purpose-built centres within the Otago University Childcare Association. Catering to approximately 40 children over 2 years of age with a high 1:8 teacher-to-child ratio, Te Puna offers a warm, rich learning environment. Because we prioritise enrolments for University staff and students, our diverse community deeply values the educational experience we provide.
We make regular use of our vibrant local setting through an active bush curriculum and frequent excursions to the nearby Dunedin Botanic Garden and university campus. In this role, you will lead an established, supportive team of 7 qualified, registered teachers. You will be backed by a strong leadership network, including the OUCA Manager, administrator, and the Head Teachers across our four other centres.
What we offer

- Rates above full pay parity, we are a part of the ECE Collective Agreement.
- Qualified, registered teaching team with 5 hours of non-contact time per week.

- Leadership (or emergent leadership) experience in an ECE setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to te reo me ōna tikanga Māori.
