Head of Junior Science – Chemistry Specialist

Westlake Boys High School is seeking an experienced science teacher with specialty in chemistry to lead our junior science programme.

We are looking for a collaborative and innovative educator with strong curriculum knowledge, excellent organisational skills and the ability to teach chemistry at senior levels.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead curriculum development across Years 9 and 10 within a supportive and well resourced science faculty.

Applicants must be NZ registered, fully conversant with the NZ Curriculum and have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. We are a AEWV employer.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teacher's Collective Agreement (STCA) Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement (2025–2027) The base salary for trained and registered teachers currently ranges from NZD64,119 to NZD107,886.00, depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

Individuals’ actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment by Education Payroll once a role is confirmed.
