About the role
We are seeking an empathetic, collaborative, and student-focused registered teacher to join our team as learning support coordinator (LSC) at Waitara East School.
In this dedicated non-teaching role (0.5 FTTE), you will co-ordinate learning support across our kura, working alongside our SENCO, Special Education team, teaching staff, whānau, and external specialist agencies to ensure all tamariki receive the support they need to thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate support systems and external agency involvement for students with additional needs.
- Support teachers and learning assistants with inclusive classroom strategies.
- Build positive, collaborative relationships with whānau, local networks, and specialist providers.
- Assist with smooth transition planning for tamariki entering or moving on from our kura.

- Excellent communication and relational skills.
