St John Bosco School (New Plymouth) Taranaki

Release Teacher

  • Part-time (0.8 FTTE)
  • Permanent
  • Suitable for beginning teachers

About the role

Are you an adaptable, enthusiastic educator looking for a rewarding role that balances structure with opportunities to impart your specialist skill and passion areas?

We are seeking collaborative teaching professionals to join our dynamic team in a permanent release capacity. We are looking for people to come in and work as hard as we do and make a real positive difference.

Flexible structure: For the right candidates, this total allocation can be split into smaller, dedicated part-time positions to suit your skill set and the needs of our kura.

About the role

We have up to 0.8 FTTE available, encompassing:

  • Junior school leadership release: Supporting our deputy principal with dedicated release time so they can drive SENCO initiatives and systems, increase student achievement and ensure our school is the most inclusive environment we can make it.
  • School-wide CRT release: Providing high-quality classroom release time across various year levels. In this role you'll balance the continuity of key curriculum areas along with bringing some innovation and that 'something extra' in collaboration with an existing CRT teacher.

What we are looking for

  • You can step into different learning environments seamlessly, maintaining strong routines and learning momentum in core curriculum areas (Literacy and Mathematics).
  • You bring your own unique skills and interests to enrich our students' learning experience. That might be in te ao Māori, visual arts, performing arts, STEM, physical education or anything great that we haven’t thought of.
  • You build positive, supportive relationships with tamariki, staff and whānau quickly and effectively. You solve problems. You uplift people.

Staff are expected to recognise and respect the school's Catholic special character and be actively involved in the total life of the school, in a manner which respects the religious instruction given and religious observances practised within the school.
