Maths Specialist Support Teacher

Pahiatua School is looking for an outstanding mathematics kaiako to support our Year 4–8 mathematics programme in 2027.

We are a thriving Year 0–8 school of 350 ākonga with an amazing culture where you will feel welcome and supported from the moment you walk through the gate. We are passionate about evidence-informed teaching and ensuring every child reaches their academic potential.

About the role

This is a genuinely rewarding teaching role. No class of your own, no detailed reporting load, no parent interviews and no endless assessment paperwork! We operate in a high-trust environment and want you focused on what you do best – teaching mathematics brilliantly.

You will work with targeted students and small groups, providing explicit, structured mathematics instruction to accelerate progress, build confidence and close gaps in learning.

• Fixed-term
• 4 days per week
• 9am–12.45pm
