Upokongaro School is currently a U3, Year 1-8 primary school. The school is located 12 kilometres north of Whanganui on State Highway 4.  A local country school, active with seasonal sports and events and serves an involved and diverse community.  We foster a learning classroom culture where tamariki are well supported to achieve their personal best in a safe, welcoming, vibrant and fun school environment.  Featuring a supportive Board, experienced staff and a very positive community spirit, Upokongaro School is an appealing option for an enthusiastic aspiring or experienced Principal.  Could this be you?

• be able to demonstrate an experienced understanding of the complex layers of School Leadership and have an ability to make challenging but well researched decisions when required
• have implemented effective and innovative educational leadership approaches, with a focus on enhancing and supporting the current programmes within the school, and with a clear focus on effectively meeting the diverse needs of our tamariki
• be a NZ registered teacher.
