Taipa Area School invites applications from innovative and collaborative educators for the permanent position of Leader of Wellbeing across our primary and/or intermediate levels from 2027.

This vision is built on fostering genuine relationships with our students, providing them with a strong sense of belonging, safety, and the ability to achieve. Most of our students whakapapa to the iwi of Ngāti Kahu, and our school vision embraces and celebrates our local history, culture, and language.

Situated adjacent to Taipa Beach, the best open-air classroom in Northland, we uphold student wellbeing and achievement through Manaakitanga, Painga, and Mahitahi.

Key responsibilities and attributes

• Provide energetic and supportive classroom teaching to a Year 7 and 8 class.
• Lead pastoral care, student wellbeing, and positive school culture initiatives for the intermediate cohort.
• Build strong, authentic connections with students, whānau, and colleagues to ensure a safe, inclusive environment.
• Maintain a relational approach to teaching and learning.
• Hold current New Zealand teacher registration.
