Taipa Area School Northland

Leader of Learning – Curriculum (1-2 positions)

  • Full-time
  • Permanent
  • MU/s negotiable.

About the role

Taipa Area School invites applications from innovative and collaborative educators for the permanent position of Leader of Learning (Curriculum) across our primary and/or intermediate levels from 2027.

We are looking for good people with great relationship and collaboration skills, and are putting together an awesome team to lead our kaiāko and tauira.  Te reo Māori and tikanga skills/knowledge is an advantage, but not essential if willing to grow in these areas.

This is a hands-on teaching role where you will lead curriculum innovation directly from within the classroom across our primary/intermediate section.

At Taipa Area School, our vision "Navigate together for success" builds genuine relationships, belonging, and achievement while honoring our Ngāti Kahu heritage.

Located adjacent to Taipa Beach, the best open-air classroom in Northland, our school puts student well-being and achievement at the forefront of everything we do, guided by our core values of Manaakitanga, Painga, and Mahitahi.

Key responsibilities & attributes:

  • Provide inspirational curriculum leadership and pedagogical support across primary and/or intermediate learning spaces.
  • Demonstrate exemplary achievement and innovation in teaching the New Zealand Curriculum.
  • Work collegially with our team, supporting culturally responsive practices across all classrooms, including our rumaki reo pathway.
  • Hold current New Zealand teacher registration.
