Mulberry Grove School Auckland

Scale A teacher – Years 1–4

  • Full-time
  • Permanent
  • Isolation allowance, staffing incentive allowance. School house.

About the role

Your next teaching adventure starts beside the sea.

Aotea | Great Barrier Island — school house available.

Imagine teaching where the bush and beach are part of your classroom, curiosity leads to discovery, and you can see the difference you make every day.

At Mulberry Grove School, overlooking beautiful Tryphena Harbour, we believe education should connect learners with the wonders of the world. We are growing strong links with our local bush and marine environments and are looking for an inspiring teacher to help bring this learning to life.

We seek a vibrant, enthusiastic, NZ-trained teacher to nurture and challenge our Years 1–4 learners. You will bring strong teaching practice across the curriculum, sound foundations in literacy and mathematics, and a passion for weaving environmental learning into meaningful, hands-on experiences.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience teaching a multilevel class, with effective classroom management.
  • The ability to build warm relationships and respond to a range of learning needs.
  • Enthusiasm for environmental education, aquatics and learning beyond the classroom.
  • A collaborative approach, initiative and a sense of humour.

Strengths in kapa haka and/or music would be warmly welcomed.

We offer a small school with big possibilities:

  • a stunning coastal setting, opportunities to shape our local curriculum
  • a close connection with our tamariki, whānau and island community
  • a school house available, with staffing incentive and isolation allowance entitlements subject to eligibility
  • support with moving costs.

Island life offers adventure, connection and a different pace—and calls for flexibility, resourcefulness and a willingness to get involved.

Ready to bring your teaching strengths and sense of adventure to Aotea? We’d love to hear from you.
