Teacher of Drama

Start date: Term 1 2027.

Are you a talented Drama teacher ready to inspire the next generation of performers? We are seeking a teacher of Drama who can teach to NCEA level 3 and who is excited by the opportunity to contribute to our Performing Arts department. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop our reputation for outstanding performance and production work.

As a Drama teacher you will enjoy designing engaging Drama programmes, supporting students to bring their learning to life through authentic performance projects, and as a whānau coach you will support a group of students from Year 9 to 13, holding high expectations and inspiring students to achieve their best, personally and academically.

At HPSS, relationships are at the heart of learning. We are a caring, inclusive community school where students and staff are genuinely supported to thrive. Teachers often say they feel re-energised and empowered by our restorative, relational, and innovative approach.

We are committed to enacting Te Tiriti o Waitangi and embedding mātauranga Māori, Te Reo Māori me ngā tikanga Māori throughout our curriculum and school culture and we work in close partnership with our iwi, Te Kawerau ā Maki. All staff are supported in developing culturally sustaining and relational pedagogies.
