Early Childhood Kaiako - 2 to 6 years old

Peacocks Rockfield is a warm, Reggio-inspired centre where tamariki are seen as competent, confident, creative and resilient learners. Our purpose-built, nature-rich spaces are designed to provoke curiosity, and our teaching is guided by the Reggio Emilia approach, woven through Te Whāriki, connecting with interests and culture of children.

We are looking for a certificated teacher to join our preschool team for children aged 2 to 6. You would be joining a cohesive, long-serving team of six teachers who are internationally diverse, reflecting our wider community, and who are at many different stages of their professional journeys. We are flexible about where you’ll fit in our team (there are several classrooms), and we will shape the role around the strengths and passions you bring as to where you will complement our existing team best.

About you

• A practising certificate (full or provisional), and a teaching qualification in early childhood education. Beginning teachers are warmly welcome.
• A teaching philosophy that aligns with ours: child-led learning, intentional teaching, respectful relationships with tamariki and whānau, and thoughtfully prepared environments.
• A collaborative, reflective approach, and a willingness to learn alongside colleagues.
• A current first aid certificate.
• The legal right to work in New Zealand and already in New Zealand.
• A clean police vet (for New Zealand and other countries that you may have lived in).

What we offer

• Full pay parity.
• A supportive, experienced team and a centre culture that values relationships.

As we are looking to fill this position promptly, we encourage applications from teachers already in New Zealand.
