Principal

St Joseph’s School Taihape, a Year 1 to 8 state-integrated Catholic school, is seeking an effective, passionate and innovative faith and education leader, to serve and guide our vibrant school community.

With a roll of 75 learners, our school offers a unique opportunity to lead within a close-knit, rural community where sustaining positive relationships matter, and every child is valued.

Grounded in our Catholic worldview, commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and Josephite values of Community, Aroha, Resilience and Excellence, we believe every learner carries the potential for greatness.

With Maunga Ruapehu, the Ruahine Range and Rangitīkei awa on our doorstep, there are endless outdoor and sport opportunities, central to our region being an incredible place to live, learn, and connect with the community and the environment. We enjoy a peaceful local setting while maintaining easy access to Whanganui, Palmerston North, and the wider Rangitīkei and Manawatū regions.

A willingness and ability to participate in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school is a condition of employment. The principal shall accept and recognise a responsibility to maintain and preserve the special character of the school.

If you are an effective, relational, faith-driven leader, wanting to make a difference in the lives of young people, and our community we genuinely invite you to apply.
