About the role
Rotorua | Start: January, 2027
An exciting opportunity to lead and shape gifted education.
Launchpad One Day School is NZ Launchpad's specialist programme for gifted learners, based in Rotorua. Our vision is to become a leader in gifted education in New Zealand, and we are seeking an exceptional educational leader to shape the school's future from 2027.
This is an established programme with the capacity to grow into a leading national centre for gifted education. You will be supported by an experienced mentor who designed the curriculum. We are an independent organisation outside the public sector, so you'll work closely with a committed Board and have the freedom to innovate.
The role This is a broad leadership position combining teaching with the day-to-day operation of the school and leadership of our teaching team. You will lead the school's strategic direction, oversee administration and relationships with families, develop specialist programmes for gifted learners, and work with the Board on the programme's growth. The role is demanding and challenging, and equally rewarding for the right person.
What we're looking for
- Proven school leadership experience as a Principal, Deputy Principal, Head of Department or similar
- Current valid teacher registration
- A track record of high performance and high standards
- Experience in, or a strong interest in, gifted education
- The vision, energy and ambition to grow a programme into something exceptional
Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
