We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled professional to join our team as the Head of Department (HOD) for English. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the department's curriculum, managing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the English Department, including planning, implementing and reviewing the curriculum.
• Supervise and support teaching staff, providing mentorship.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that educational standards are met and exceeded.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
• Stay current with educational trends and best practices in English and Literacy.

Qualifications and experience

• A degree in English or in a related field.
• Proven experience in teaching English at a secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, assessment practices and educational standards.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
