Senior Maths Teacher

If you are looking to immerse yourself in one of New Zealand’s greatest outdoor playgrounds, your next career chapter starts here.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate full-time senior mathematics teacher capable of delivering high-quality teaching through to NCEA Level 3. An ability or willingness to teach physics and/or chemistry is a distinct advantage.

Murchison Area School is a close-knit, supportive learning community catering to students from Year 1 to 13. Our small size is our greatest strength: it allows for low student-to-teacher ratios, personalised learning pathways, and genuine relationships with students, whānau, and colleagues. You won’t just be another face in a large department – you will be an essential, valued member of our school family.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Murchison is paradise on your doorstep. Known as the whitewater capital of New Zealand, the region is surrounded by wild rivers, rugged mountain ranges, and untouched national parks. Whether your passion is kayaking, whitewater rafting, fly fishing, mountain biking the world-famous Old Ghost Road, or tramping through native bush, your weekend adventure begins the moment the Friday afternoon bell rings.

If you are an innovative educator seeking small-class teaching, a welcoming community spirit, and an unmatched outdoor lifestyle, we would love to welcome you to our team. Apply today and turn your dream lifestyle into your daily reality!

A school house will be available for the successful candidate.
