Te Kohanga School Waikato
Scale A Classroom Teacher
- Part-time (0.8 FTTE)
- Permanent
- Suitable for beginning teachers
About the role
He waka eke noa – We are all in this together.
Te Kohanga School is seeking a passionate and dedicated classroom teacher to join our small, rural kura, situated in the heart of Te Puuaha o Waikato.
We are looking for a teacher who builds strong, positive relationships with mokopuna, whānau and our wider hapori, and who is committed to creating an engaging, inclusive learning environment where every mokopuna can thrive.
The successful applicant will value and embrace te reo Maaori me oona tikanga and understand the importance of identity, culture, language and belonging in learning. A strength in developing and delivering a localised curriculum that reflects our unique history, environment and people, along with an appreciation for or a commitment to building connections with the Te Puuaha o Waikato area, would be highly valued.
We are committed to strengthening teaching and learning through explicit teaching practices. Knowledge or experience in the Better Start Literacy Approach (BSLA) would be an advantage.
If you are a collaborative, reflective teacher who is passionate about raising achievement, strengthening whaanau connections and making a positive difference in the lives of our mokopuna, we would love to hear from you.
Join us as we continue to grow and strengthen learning at Te Kohanga School.
