Bainesse School Manawatu/Whanganui

Scale A New Entrant Teacher

  • Full-time
  • Permanent

About the role

We are a rural school with a proud history of sporting success, rural grit and resilience. Nestled in the rolling countryside of Bainesse, our tamariki can explore, climb trees, and embrace the outdoors. We pride ourselves on our strong sense of community and our commitment to our RURAL+ values: Respect, Understanding, Resilience, Actions, Loyalty and Positivity.

At Bainesse School, we celebrate our rural roots, foster a love of learning, and build the confidence, character and resilience our children need to thrive. We embrace the tuakana-teina, encouraging students to learn from and support one another across different ages.

We are seeking a warm, experienced and NZ-registered new entrants teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning and giving every child the best possible start to their school journey.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early childhood development and a nurturing, student-centred approach to teaching. You will be confident in building positive relationships with children and their whānau, planning purposeful learning experiences, and establishing effective classroom management practices.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential in our team-teaching environment, where working together and supporting one another are key to our success.

Experience or a strong interest in supporting diverse learning needs would be an advantage. Applicants will need sound pedagogical knowledge across all areas of the New Zealand Curriculum, with experience in the Better Start Literacy Approach (BSLA) and structured literacy being highly desirable. This role also has the potential to include the Learning Support Coordinator role for the right person.

If you are a collaborative, enthusiastic teacher who loves working as part of a team we would love to hear from you.

This position starts in Term 1, 2027. We encourage applicants to visit Bainesse School and meet our team.
