Deputy Principal - Pastoral

As a result of continued roll increases, Christchurch North College are seeking a deputy principal who, while being a leader first and foremost, is also a passionate educator, dedicated to improving outcomes for all in the area of pastoral care. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, caring professional to join our team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our amazing staff as we enter an exciting period of growth and development. 

Knowledge or experience in restorative practices, neurodiversity and mindfulness are important. This, combined with a proven record in pastoral care, change management and success as a teacher are important prerequisites for all applicants. Initiative and the ability to find new ways forward are also essential attributes.

Enhancing student wellbeing and providing outstanding, personalised pastoral care define this role. The ideal candidate will be skilled at building positive relationships with our students and whānau. 

A commitment to bicultural education, and a track record of catering to the needs of diverse learners and creating an inclusive environment are vital. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are an expectation, as is a desire to grow leadership capacity in yourself and others. The ability to be collaborative in all aspects of the job is essential as you will work with all of the key stakeholders.
