Visual Arts Head of Department

Ōrewa College is a high-performing Year 7-13 school nestled on the Hibiscus Coast.

We are part of a vibrant community and offer an outstanding educational programme, enriched by a range of co-curricular opportunities.

This is an opportunity to lead a well-resourced, progressive department in an evolving NCEA environment. We seek a leader with middle leadership experience, committed to fostering excellence, creativity and innovation.

This permanent role begins Term 1, 2027.

At Ōrewa College, we have a strong focus on professional growth, including a school-wide approach to instructional coaching, where teachers work alongside colleagues to strengthen practice and improve outcomes for ākonga.

Our full-immersion Te Reo Māori programme, Te Whānau Taipari, continues to grow. We are committed to ensuring this kaupapa holds an important and visible place within the College, and expect all staff to positively advocate for its ongoing development.

We value staff who want to be part of the wider life of the College and who recognise the important role that sport, arts, culture, leadership and other co-curricular opportunities play in building a strong school community. Commitment to our school values, Manaaki Ōrewa, and our teaching and learning philosophy, Ako Ōrewa, is expected.
