Hinds School Canterbury
Year 4 Kaiako
- Full-time
- Permanent
- Suitable for beginning teachers
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented, child-focused teacher to join our permanent staff. Hinds School is a Year 1-8 rural primary school located in Hinds township, 15 minutes south of Ashburton.
Most students live rurally and travel by bus. Our roll is 180 children across 8 classrooms.
At Hinds School, children are at the centre of everything we do. We are proud of our positive school culture, our supportive community, and a proactive school board who want the best outcomes academically, socially and emotionally for all tamariki. Excellent teaching matters at Hinds: teachers know their learners deeply, hold high expectations, think critically about their practice, and continually develop their pedagogical knowledge to make a difference for every child.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher; have strong pedagogical and curriculum knowledge; practice culturally responsive approaches; foster strong home-school partnerships; demonstrate commitment to te reo and tikanga Māori and be able to seamlessly fit into our team. Strengths in BSLA and te reo Māori, along with the ability to embrace the cultural diversity of our kura whānau, are desired.
Please note: Applicants must hold New Zealand registration (provisional or full) and currently reside in New Zealand.
