Scale A Teacher – MAP programme

Morningside School, Whangārei, is seeking a skilled, relational kaiako for our MAP programme (Maths and Pāngarau Acceleration programme). This Scale A teaching role involves working with targeted small groups of learners from across the school.

We are looking for a teacher who can identify learners’ strengths and next steps, plan purposeful teaching, and use assessment to monitor progress and adapt their approach. You will work closely with classroom teachers to connect small-group learning with classroom programmes and help learners apply their growing skills with confidence.

Strong relationships are central to this role. You will create a welcoming, predictable learning environment, maintain high expectations, and respond flexibly to different learning needs. We value a calm, trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approach that supports belonging, engagement and independence.
