Learning Support Coordinator (LSC)

At Westport South School, our heart values and belief in “together we can” are at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking an experienced, passionate and highly organised learning support coordinator (LSC) to join our collaborative and supportive team in 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced NZ registered teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and making a genuine difference for tamariki. The successful applicant will lead and coordinate learning support across our school, working alongside teachers, teacher aides, whānau and external agencies to ensure all learners feel a sense of belonging, experience success and make progress.

We are looking for someone who:

• Builds positive, trusting relationships with tamariki, whānau and colleagues.
• Has strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Brings initiative, sound professional knowledge and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
• Is passionate about inclusive education and ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed.
• Can support and empower others, build staff capability and strengthen inclusive classroom practice.

A key part of the role will be working alongside staff to identify and respond to diverse learning needs, coordinate appropriate support and develop strategies that enable all tamariki to participate, belong and achieve.

A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, culturally responsive practice, ongoing professional growth and achieving positive outcomes for all learners is essential. Experience in a SENCo, LSC or similar learning support leadership role would be advantageous.
