Year 6 Classroom Teacher

Are you an enthusiastic, innovative, and culturally responsive teacher with a passion for senior primary learners? We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative professional to join our vibrant teaching team in a Year 6 classroom at the start of Term 1, 2027.

This is a fixed-term position for Terms 1 and 2, 2027, while one of our Year 6 teachers takes on an acting deputy principal role to cover maternity leave.

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Has a strong understanding of the NZ Curriculum and effective literacy and numeracy practices.
• Fosters learner agency, independence, and leadership, preparing students for a successful transition to intermediate school.
• Designs engaging, differentiated learning experiences that challenge and inspire senior learners.
• Builds positive relationships with students, whānau, and colleagues.
• Is reflective, collaborative, and committed to ongoing professional growth.
• Embraces the multicultural richness of our school and actively supports culturally responsive and inclusive practices.

Experience with structured literacy, The CODE, and Maths — No Problem! will be advantageous.
