Waitoki School Auckland

Teacher

  • Part-time (0.8 FTTE)
  • Fixed-term (27 Jan to 16 Dec 2027)

About the role

Waitoki is a small rural school 10 minutes drive from Silverdale. Our vision is to be an inclusive school community that nurtures adaptive, creative, curious, life-long learners who achieve their best through perseverance and collaboration. We recognise that our students are all individuals who bring their own experiences and talents to our learning community. We hold a strong set of school 'Goat' values of grit, ownership, aroha, and teamwork, which are infused through everything we do.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, inspirational kaiako to join our team of passionate and dedicated educators who will be responsible for Structured Literacy Support and ESOL, as well as provide classroom release for a teacher. This is a 0.8 FTTE role, four days per week, Monday-Thursday.

Applicants must have a good understanding of the refreshed curriculum, recent New Zealand teaching experience and the ability to:

  • Work with tamariki across the Year 0-8 primary school age range to deliver SLA support
  • Teach Structured Literacy to all year levels and carry out DIBELS testing
  • Support speakers of other languages (ESOL and International students)
  • Provide classroom release and teach the NZC four afternoons per week

As we are a U3 rural school, all of our staff members wear multiple hats, so most of all you will need to be flexible, adaptable, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to muck in wherever required. Candidates must be able to work collaboratively, be willing to get fully involved in the life of our school and connect with our supportive community.

If this sounds like you then we would love to hear from you.
