St Joseph's School (Taihape) New Zealand (Nationwide)

Teacher

  • Full-time
  • Fixed-term (25 Jan to 12 Dec 2027)

About the role

St Joseph’s School in Taihape is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate teacher to join our team from term 1, 2027.

We are a state-integrated Catholic full primary school (Years 1 to 8), situated in the heart of Taihape and proudly serving a diverse, supportive rural community. We are part of St Mary’s Parish and value the strong relationships that exist between our school, whānau, parish and wider community.

We are seeking a New Zealand registered teacher who is positive, innovative and committed to making a difference for ākonga. We are looking for someone who builds strong relationships, creates engaging learning opportunities and has high expectations for every learner.

Our ideal applicant will have sound curriculum knowledge and an understanding of structured and evidence-informed teaching practices. They will use assessment effectively to identify next learning steps, respond to individual needs and support all students to make meaningful progress.

At St Joseph’s, you will find amazing students, a well-resourced learning environment, opportunities for professional growth and a supportive and collaborative staff. We value teachers who are willing to share their strengths, learn alongside others and get involved in the wider life of our school.

Our CARE values – Community, Aroha, Resilience and Excellence– underpin everything we do. We are proud of our Catholic special character and our commitment to living our faith through our relationships, Gospel values and service to others.

This is a non-tagged position. The successful applicant does not need to be Catholic. However, they must be willing and able to support and uphold the Catholic special character of St Joseph’s School and participate appropriately in the religious instruction and special character of the school.

The successful applicant must hold current New Zealand teacher registration and certification.

Position starts term 1, January 2027.
