Primary Teacher - Year 5

Start: Wed 27th January, 2027

End: Wed 15th December, 2027(or until the return of the employee on maternity leave, whichever occurs first)

Cornerstone Christian School is seeking a Primary Teacher who is Registered with the NZ Teaching Council, for a Year 5 class in a 0.8FTTE, fixed term position

Cornerstone Christian School is a Year 1-13 Special Character (Christian) Area School of around 600 students located just on the outskirts of Palmerston North. It is a fun and supportive place to work, well-resourced and with great students.

This position will suit a teacher who enjoys working in a close-knit team, values strong relationships, and enjoys contributing to the school’s Special Character.

We are looking for a teacher who:

works collaboratively within a team

builds respectful, positive relationships with students, staff, whānau, and community

has strong curriculum delivery skills and assessment knowledge

is flexible, organised, and adaptable

A willingness and ability to support and uphold the special character of the school, and a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school, shall be a condition of appointment.

Terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Area School Teachers' Collective Agreement – Education in New Zealand (ASTCA).
