Te Kura o Hau Karetu Wellington
Learning Support Coordinator 2 positions @ 0.5 FTTE
- Part time
- Permanent
- 0.5 FTTE
About the role
We are seeking two experienced, registered teachers who have a passion for working with and supporting primary age students with the ability to work alongside their teachers, families and whānau. There are two permanent 0.5 positions available – one at Birchville School and one at Pinehaven School beginning term 1, 2027. Both schools are looking at combining their component of the LSC role with their Literacy Support Teacher role. Please check their advertisement for further details.
The Learning Support Coordinators will be employed by Te Kura o Hau Karetu on behalf of the Upper Hutt Cluster Group for both Birchville and Pinehaven Primary Schools. We are a cluster of schools who work closely together, and believe all children of Upper Hutt belong to us and are “our responsibility”.
The LSC will ensure students with moderate learning and behaviour challenges are well supported to engage and experience success in the classroom and at school.
You will support teacher practice, and the coordination of several stakeholders within and outside of the school, including building relationships with other LSCs in the cluster.
We would like you to have knowledge of culturally responsive pedagogy.
