Year 7/8 Team Leader

Mt Pleasant School is seeking a passionate Year 7/8 Team Leader to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who is either in a leadership role already and is looking for a change or new challenge, or someone who is ready to step up into a leadership role and contribute to a vibrant, supportive, and forward-thinking school community.

We are an International Baccalaureate (IB) school committed to delivering the New Zealand curriculum through the IB Primary Years Programme framework. Our approach is centered on rigorous inquiry, balanced with structured literacy and numeracy learning experiences.

Role and responsibilities

As the Year 7/8 Team Leader, you will not only lead your team but also model best practices in teaching and learning. You will be responsible for supporting and mentoring staff, and ensuring high-quality education for all students in your team.

Mt Pleasant School is deeply committed to highly collaborative and collective approaches to teaching and learning. You will help cultivate strong, positive relationships across our very supportive school community, including students, staff, and parents.

We are looking for a leader who:

Has a strong understanding of the New Zealand curriculum, holds a NZ teacher registration and NZ work visa.

Has some knowledge of the IB PYP framework, but this is not essential - we are keen to grow learners and leaders here at Mt Pleasant
