The KingsGate opportunity

KingsGate is seeking committed curriculum teachers to join our growing High School. We welcome applicants with strengths in one or more of Visual Arts, Science, Mathematics and Social Sciences. Teaching will span Years 7–13 according to the applicant’s expertise and school needs. Senior-level subject teaching is an advantage. Part-time applications will be considered.

The successful applicant will

Plan and deliver engaging, well-sequenced learning that builds subject knowledge, skills and learner confidence.

Teach relevant Yr 7 to 10 levels, adapting programmes to students’ ages, strengths and learning needs.

Prepare senior students for NCEA and other qualifications while ensuring teaching reflects a coherent subject curriculum.

Use assessment information to guide teaching, provide useful feedback and support student progress.

Establish positive relationships and maintain high expectations for learning, participation and behaviour.

Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, moderation and programme development.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, students and whaanau to support learning and wellbeing.

Bring KingsGate’s Christian special character into teaching, relationships and active contribution to the wider school community.

The successful applicant will bring

Current New Zealand teacher registration, or eligibility to gain registration.

Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom practice in one or more advertised learning areas.

A commitment to inclusive teaching, professional learning and collaborative practice.
