Māori Medium Bilingual Level 2 Immersion Teacher

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the bilingual teaching team at Bohally Intermediate School for 2027, with one of our current kaiako having been granted study leave for the year.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, culturally responsive and collaborative kaiako to teach within our established Māori Medium Level 2 immersion bilingual programme.

Our programme provides Year 7 and 8 ākonga with 51–80% of teaching and learning through te reo Māori, with te reo Māori, tikanga Māori and mātauranga Māori woven authentically through everyday learning and the wider life of our kura.

We are looking for a kaiako who:

has strong capability and confidence in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga

can deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and learning through te reo Māori

builds strong relationships with ākonga, whānau and colleagues

is passionate about supporting Māori learners to experience success as Māori

values collaboration and will contribute positively to our bilingual teaching programme and kapa haka

is keen to contribute to the wider cultural life of our kura, including extra curricula activities.
