- Suitable for beginning teachers
About the role
Elements Nature Based Play is on a mission to get tamariki back outside spending more time in nature. At Elements we allow for ample unstructured playtime in the great outdoors, leading to creative social adventures between the tamariki. Our curriculum inspires tamariki to think independently and openly.
We are seeking a kaiārahi (leader) to join our team that offers sessions during the school and summer holidays. Days are generally 8.30am to 4pm in our two locations in Westmorland and Marshlands. Currently we provide programmes for tamariki aged 5 to 13. This is a casual contract position.
A kaiārahi will co-lead daily programming with a fellow kaiārahi and potentially junior kaiārahi as needed by enrolments. Kaiārahi are responsible for the safety of all participating tamariki, and assisting with projects and activities throughout the day. This person will be responsible for checking in with caregivers at the start and and end of the programme and communicating with them about the specific needs of the tamariki (allergies, behavourial needs, etc.).
Training, daily programmes, curriculum, policy documents, health and safety documentation is provided.
