Ngākōroa School Auckland
Kaiako Years 7 & 8
- Full time
- Permanent
About the role
Ngākōroa School has an opportunity for a Year 7 and 8 kaiako starting at the beginning of Term 1 2027. If you enjoy teaching rangatahi as they develop a love of learning, self-efficacy and independence, we would love to hear from you.
This is a unique opportunity to co-teach with an experienced hāpori leader with strong culturally responsive practice within a two-class composite hub. With full-time kaiawhina support, the team create engaging, differentiated learning opportunities that respond to strengths, cultures and learning needs of our rangatahi.
Previous co-teaching experience is not essential but a collaborative mindset, and commitment to inclusive, relationship-based practice are.
Our school is a central part of the diverse and growing community in Auranga (Drury). We have an integrated, conceptual approach to the curriculum alongside structured teaching in literacy and mathematics. We are guided by our vision, Kawea te Mātauranga ki te Whaiao, ki te Ao Mārama – Bringing Learning to Life, in everything we do.
Ngākōroa has a strong staff culture, supportive leadership, community connections and relationships with local iwi. As a growing kura with solid foundations, we offer opportunities to contribute, innovate and grow professionally.
We are looking for kaiako wanting to contribute to our kura and add their strengths to ours. Units for school-wide leadership responsibilities are negotiable around your strengths (such as Sports Co-ordinator, Garden to Table). If you are interested contributing to the leadership please state in your cover letter.
Visits to our kura are warmly encouraged. We would love to hear from you!
