Northern Health School Auckland

Unit Leadership Role - East Auckland Unit - 3MU

  • Full time
  • Permanent

About the role

Northern Health School is a Ministry of Education funded school that provides education and transition support for year 0-14 students whilst ill health prevents them attending their regular school. School management and administration is predominantly based in Auckland with school units in centres throughout the north island from Kaitaia to Gisborne, Taupo and Taranaki.

Due to school growth, we are establishing a new school unit in East Auckland which creates a rare leadership opportunity in our school. We are currently seeking a Unit Leader to lead a small East Auckland team delivering learner focused programmes to ākonga with high health needs.

The successful applicant will be an experienced, fully registered teacher with a highly developed knowledge of school curriculum, including culturally responsive pedagogy, as an excellent understanding and practical application of the New Zealand Curriculum is critical for this role. Previous experience teaching in a health school setting would be considered an asset.

Recent leadership experience and an ability to support students with Te Ao Māori and Te reo Māori an advantage.

A full NZ driving licence is essential for this position.
