St Mary's College (Wellington) Wellington
Head of Learning Area - Science
- Full time
- Permanent
About the role
Are you a dynamic and innovative science educator, ready to take on a key leadership role? Are you collaborative and astute? Are you a capable manager of both curriculum delivery and of people? If so, we invite you to join our vibrant learning community as the Head of Learning Area - Science.
Located in central Wellington, St Mary’s College is a close-knit community that is known for its supportive culture, collegial staff and outstanding academic outcomes. We are immensely proud of our students' passion for the sciences and many of our graduates proceed to successful tertiary studies in STEM fields. Our students are engaged, bright, motivated and ready to be challenged and inspired.
This is an exciting time to join the science faculty. We have recently renovated our science laboratories which gives us excellent learning spaces.
This is a full-time, permanent position, from the start of the 2027 school year (or by negotiation with the successful candidate). Applicants with previous middle management experience will have an advantage. Being a biology or physics specialist will be an advantage too.
There is the opportunity for a further Management Unit if you have the right qualifications to also take on the role of Lab Manager.
Please note that all staff appointed to St Mary’s College are expected to support the Catholic special character of the school.
