Deputy Principal (Curriculum)
- Part time

About the role
Parkview Pārua School is seeking an inspiring, curriculum-focused leader to join our senior leadership team as Deputy Principal (Curriculum). This is a 0.6 permanent position (2.5 units) commencing 26 January 2027.
We are a U5, co-educational, state full primary school of approximately 400 ākonga on the eastern side of Christchurch, with excellent facilities, large field spaces and a very supportive Board of Trustees. Our values of Manaakitanga (Belonging), Whanaungatanga (Relationships), Ako (Learning) and Mahi Tahi (Collaboration) shape everything we do. We are passionate about structured literacy and digital learning that enhances our localised curriculum, and we value kapahaka, Pasifika groups, PE and the Arts.
In this role you will lead curriculum design, implementation and review, build teacher capability in evidence-based pedagogy and the science of learning, and use assessment data to measure impact and guide decisions. You will assist the Principal with the day-to-day management of the school, and help us strengthen belonging and wellbeing, learning for every learner, and partnerships and transitions as we begin our 2027-2028 Strategic Plan.
The successful candidate will be a registered teacher with proven leadership experience, sound curriculum knowledge (particularly in literacy and mathematics) and sound assessment and reporting knowledge. You will be highly relational and collaborative, understand cultural diversity including Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and be committed to the wellbeing of every child and to our school motto: Learning, Caring, Leading – Kia ako, Kia atawhai, Kia ārahi.
We have a very supportive School Board and amazing staff. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
