Deputy Principal Positions (2 Roles)

Permanent | Commencing Term 1, 2027

An exciting opportunity exists for 2 dynamic, relational, and forward-thinking leaders to join St Francis Xavier School in Whangārei. We are seeking 2 Deputy Principals to work within our senior teacher team in leading effective change, embedding quality teaching and learning, and driving our future-focused strategic vision.

Key leadership roles (Phase 1/Phase 2).

Phase leadership: Oversee either Phase 1 or Phase 2 across Years 1–6 (alignment with junior/senior strengths will be discussed at interview).

Curriculum and assessment excellence: Drive achievement for all ākonga through strong NZ Curriculum knowledge, evidence-based pedagogy, and effective assessment.

Relational leadership: Build a positive team culture, empower staff, and cultivate meaningful partnerships across our school, whānau, parish, and wider community.

Cultural responsiveness: A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, te reo Māori, and tikanga Māori.

Catholic special character: Passion for leading with compassion, service, and integrity, actively supporting and promoting our school’s faith-filled Gospel values.
