Tairangi School Wellington
Scale A Teacher
- Full time
- Fixed term
- Suitable for beginning teachers
About the role
We seek a scale A teacher to lead a mixed level class in the senior primary school.
What makes our school different for teachers?
To provide balance and opportunities to practise self care, we offer approximately 2 blocks of release as a syndicate every week. This enables us to reduce after school meetings and open up more opportunities for collaboration, induction and ongoing support.
In 2027, we will also provide a teacher aide in every class to support the co constructed curriculum changes and accelerate learning in Literacy and Maths.
We respect teacher professionalism and expertise. We are really proud of how we have developed our English and Maths Curriculum Frameworks to reduce teacher workload, while best supporting learners. We will embed our English and Maths curriculum framework, whilst beginning the co-constructed implementation of the science and Social Science Curriculum in 2027 based on our understanding of the neuroscience behind how the brain learns. At the same time come with the desire to question and be questioned to drive culturally responsive, collaborative improvement.
The Attitude of Gratitude (A conscious decision to give and receive a deeper expression of appreciation and acknowledgement of others. It is a positive emotion which is self replicating, elicits joyfulness, builds social relationships and has a positive effect on the well being of all).
Visiting our school is strongly recommended and making time to have a hot drink and a chat with the principal Jason Ataera or Deputy Principal Olive Masina would be warmly received.
Applications close at 3pm, Friday 30 October.
Interviews completed and the successful candidate notified by Friday 6 November.
