Are you an innovative and motivated teacher who is passionate about helping ākonga take the next step in their learning?

Ara Tū Whakatā Gilberthorpe School is seeking an enthusiastic and committed senior schoolteacher (Years 4 to 6) to join our team in a full-time, permanent position.

We are a diverse, inclusive and community-focused school with a strong commitment to high expectations, strong relationships and improved outcomes for every ākonga.

We are looking for a teacher who can inspire our senior learners, challenge their thinking and support them to become confident, capable and independent learners as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.

We are looking for someone who:

builds strong, respectful relationships with ākonga, whānau and colleagues

has a passion for working with learners in Years 4 to 6

is committed to strong literacy and mathematics outcomes and effective classroom practice

uses assessment and evidence to identify learner needs and accelerate progress

creates an engaging classroom where ākonga are challenged, supported and encouraged to take ownership of their learning

values culturally responsive practice and the diverse cultures and backgrounds within our community

is collaborative, reflective and committed to ongoing professional growth

can contribute positively to our wider school culture, sporting, cultural and extracurricular opportunities.
