Scale A Teacher – Years 5-8

Pakotai School is seeking an enthusiastic, positive and adaptable full-time teacher (1.0 FTTE) to lead learning in our Years 5–8 composite class.

We are a small rural kura where relationships, whānau and community matter. Our kura is grounded in Te Ao Māori, and we are committed to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment where every ākonga is known, valued and supported to succeed.

We are looking for a teacher who:

Builds strong relationships with ākonga, whānau and colleagues.

Is confident and enthusiastic about teaching a Years 5–8 composite class.

Is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and embedding te reo Māori me ōna tikanga authentically into everyday learning.

Brings an inclusive, learner-centred approach to teaching.

Is flexible, collaborative and willing to contribute to all aspects of kura life.

Has knowledge and experience in Structured Literacy and Mathematics – highly beneficial.

Teacher Bonding Scheme – Up to $40,000

This position qualifies for the Teacher Bonding Scheme (TBS). The eligible teacher recruited into this vacancy will receive annual payments accumulating to a maximum of $40,000 (before tax) after 5 years.
